How To Bypass Heart Void With Emptiness (Unconditional Love)
As you may or may not have noticed, but I have been taking quite a break from posting on Emotional Alchemy. I can assure you that it is to good cause. To re-shape who I am and to get back to the beat of my soul.
And with this I have more to share with you. So I am going to show you my spiritual walk as well as how I was able to bypass the feeling of nothingness that can typically happen when you delve into a think called “The Emptiness Teaching.”
To the many Bodhisattva, this is one of the most important teachings, and to the Christ this is, “To gain your life, you must lose your life.”
Unconditional Love is Directly Seeing Yourself
It really is just that. To truly see yourself for who you are, past all the story and details that you’ve caked on yourself that you sell to others so that there is a feeling of acceptance. Don’t get me wrong, it is nice to be a part of community with others and to have unique expression. However, it can be very detrimental when you are always having to put on a mask to try and “please everyone else.” or “sell everyone an idea of you” so that you can have some in somewhere.
The truth about those paths is, is that they are SO exhausting, rather than being your authentic self.
What it ultimately comes down to is that your relationship with yourself and with God is yours alone. Don’t let others dictate how you experience that love because that it is what makes you unique manifestation of God and allows you to share it with others.
How to see ourselves
It comes with the alignment of truth that we and the cosmos (God/Creator/Master) are connected so close together that there is NO SEPARATION between the two.
Yes think about that for a second. You’ve always been taught that you and the creator are two separate entities in which you interact with but on seeing your authentic self (from your soul), you will see that there is no gap between the two.
Now I am not saying that you specifically are God. What I am saying is that everything that is created IS the manifestation of that God or Creator.
And this is where the emptiness teaching kicks in, in order to directly experience this and hopefully to strengthen your relationship not only with yourself on a human being level, but with yourself on a divine level.
For this, I will seek the aid of a master that explains this well without me trying to explain it to possibly further confuse you on this grand gesture of love for yourself. Hopefully this will blow open your heart and avoid the trap that many fall into when looking into emptiness teaching as something of “I am nothing, and so nothing matters.”, but rather, “I am full of the cosmos (full of God), and so is everything else.”
In comes Thich Nhat Hanh on Emptiness (not Nothingness):
When I began to orientate myself in this manner; I began to see everyone as the same thing. My compassion for the people around me (even for those who have hurt me or have broken my heart) has grown exponentially.
Leaving this post with a present
I will leave you with some words that Ram Dass shared about what his teacher Maharaji-ji had to say about love:
The worst punishment is to throw someone out of your heart. You should not disturb anyone’s heart. Even if a person hurts you, give him love. If you love God, you overcome all impurities. You should love everyone as God. If you do not love each other, you cannot achieve your goal. Christ said to love all beings as children of God and serve them. Give everything to the poor, even your clothing. Give it all away. Jesus gave everything away, even his body.
